Top 10 Social Networking Sites

Studies shows that people using the world wide web spends most of their time in Social Networking Sites or SNS. Other features like games and others are secondary. With that I present to you the list that you, I and almost all people get addicted to.

At the Tenth Spot is Pinterest.com

Not all of us may have heard of it but in the U.S. it had already grown like wildfire. In just a matter of two years this site had already reached over 10,000,000 hits and good feed backs and reviews for the sites are tremendous.
Pinterest.com is an invitation-only site that lets its users create scrapbooks and to share and organize images of products and the things that you love.
It is addictive and fun to use, that is why it is not surprising to see its popularity grow in a phenominal phase.

Running for the 9th spot is MyLife.com

Want to know if someone is searching for you and you want to reply as soon as possible? Then use MyLife.com. MyLife.com(formerly called Reunions.com) is created for you to Find, edit, and monitor your public information for FREE! It has features that makes you search for people you can't find anywhere. it also gives you alerts if someone happens to look for you. It also lets you share infos across other social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
At November 2011, it reached 24,765,524 users since it was founded by Jeffrey Tinsley in 2002.
This site's main goal is to be able to have reconnections to ones you have lost touched to.

Known as the largest platform for making social networking sites, Ningin.com boasts of more than 60,000,000 users worldwide. this site is founded by Gina Bianchini and Marc Andreessen in 2005. 
It is often used by Top organizers, marketers, influencers, and activists to create a social destination for their ideals. 
Ning spans categories including politics, entertainment, consumer brands, small business, non-profits, education and more, connecting over 74 million people around the globe with the topics they are passionate about.
As of now, almost 90,000 social websites, known as Ning Networks, runson the Ning Platform.


For the sixth position is famous subsidiary of top search engine Google, Google+

Very new but undeniably a big hit. Google+ only launching last June 2011, gives off a record-breaking success with a32,000,000 current users. This has a slogan that says “Real-life sharing rethought for the web social networks.” Google+ is created by the Google Inc to rival the popularity of Facebook. 
Google+, as Google says is a combination of all the sites we are using. the idea is only to make it better.

Lying on the 5th spot iTagged.com

Since being launched in October 2004 by Tagged.Inc,it already has 25 million users worldwide. This site is popular for its features virtual gifts, sharing tags, browsing people and playing games. 
Tagged has acquired the social and instant messaging client Digsby and the gaming application WeGame. 


On the fourth spot is the infamous MySpace.com

With a whooping 54,000,000 users in studies conducted at November 2011, MySpace is one of the Larget not only social networking site but website in the whole World Wide Web. It  was founded in 2003 and was acquired by News Corporation in July 2005 for $580 million.From 2005 until early 2008, Myspace was the most visited social networking site in the world, and in June 2006 surpassed Google as the most visited website in the United States.In April 2008, Myspace was overtaken by Facebook in the number of unique worldwide visitors, and was surpassed in the number of unique U.S. visitors in May 2009. Since then, the number of Myspace users has declined steadily in spite of several redesigns. As of December 2011, Myspace was ranked 138th by total web traffic.(from Wikipedia.com)

Third, LinkedIn.com

LinkedIn.com is a social networking site that mainly caters to professional users. Its slogan “relationships matters” about 115.8 million users benefit LinkedIn since it was launched in May 5, 2003. Reid Hoffman, Allen Blue, Jean-Luc Vaillant, Konstantin Guericke are the founders of this famous site.
It is now considered to be the World's largest Professional Network. It  allows its members to create business contacts, search for jobs, and find potential clients. Individuals have the ability to create their own professional profile that can be viewed by others in their network, and also view the profiles of their own contacts.


Being one spot shorter from the top, Tweeet, Tweeet, Tweeet! Twitter.com

Probably the biggest social network to have celebrities all around the world to use it. Twitter.com, founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, North Glass and Evan Williams has now about 200,000,000 users. It is used to update people with current events in your life and follow people and icons. Twitter most of the times become the place where intrigues, news and events first took place.

And at the Top, of course no one can say that I am wrong, is Facebook.com


Facebook.com is founded by former Harvard Student, Mark Zuckerberg with the help of his computer science classmates Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovits and Chris Hughes. This social networking site started off as something, the founder Mark did to release off boredom. It then spread like virus through out Harvard University and  then to Yale University and before he or anyone knows it all throughout the world.

Facebook now has over 750,000,000 users on the whole wide world. It has features like creating profile, sharing photos, videos and more. Making friends is no longer a hard job with this site.What made it more exciting are other features like games, chatting and many more.

Wow, cool post. I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real hard work to make a great article… but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though. Social Media Network
